Avoid the following Facebook scam event:

Location: This Girl Got Ninja Kicked in the Face
Time: 5:30AM Saturday, April 2nd
This is a Fake Facebook Event Scam that is being posted to Facebook Users most probably by a rogue application using Facebook Chat messages or via Facebook News Feeds. When the link is clicked, the Facebook User is taken to the following page below:
This Fake Event Page contains a bit.ly link to the following installation screen, requesting for your permission to install a dangerous FAKE application:
If you choose to install the “Watch Video” Facebook Application, you are required to give the application developer access to your basic information and the right to Manage your events, as with most Legit Apps, but is used to create Fake Events on your behalf and spam them to your Friends. If the Application is allowed, the Facebook User will arrive at the following survey scam:
Do not complete any surveys and do not give out any personal information which can and will be used to harm you.
In case you submitted a telephone number for any of the surveys, then you should contact your service provider or carrier immediately to avoid any bogus charges.
Some surveys even require you to download something else in order to proceed to the next stage, but they usually contain viruses or other malware that can infect your system.
How to Remove the Scam:
If you fell for this scam, then you need to cancel your reservation for the fake event and notify your friends to avoid the fake event invitation:
Then you also need to remove the Fake Application from your list of allowed Facebook Applications, as shown below, by going to:
- Account
- Privacy Settings
- Applications and Websites
Finally, remove the scam links from your Facebook Newsfeed and Profile to remove references to the application.

I think these are phishing for personal info which might be harmful to the users.
you are right, veryfiable personal info is valuable to scammers and this is just one way for them to gain yours! Never install Facebook Apps without first researching them, which you did!:-)
