World’s First Dual Touch Screen Laptop, The Toshiba Libretto W100

Yesterday, Toshiba announced the world’s first dual touch screen laptop called the Libretto W100. According to the Toshiba website, a limited number of these small hand held devices will be available in August 2010.

It comes with a Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System powered by an  Intel Pentium processor, 2GB of RAM, a 62GB SSD (solid state drive), Wireless-N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a HD Webcam, an 8 cell Battery and those two 7″ multi-touch screens (each with 1024 x 600 resolution).

The touch screens can work independently or together, allowing users to browse the Web on one screen while checking E-mail on the other, or to view a webpage across both screens.

There are six virtual keyboard modes to choose from including simple, full, numeric 10-key and split thumb mode keyboard styles, and the keyboards provide haptic feedback, that is, the keyboard vibrates slightly when you type, similar to many smart phones.
